Posted by Tom/Sophia at 5:34 PM Labels: facebook, free 09 July 2011If you'll be heading to Target this weekend, you may want to check out the dollar spot. Mine had all 'white dot' items on clearance for 75% off!! I was able to grab two straw, lined tote bags, a reusable bag, and two sets of note cards for only $1.99, with a savings of $6.01 :)
Have you seen Totsy yet? They're a members-only deal site that offers cute goods for moms and kids. The best part, though, is that they offer free shipping on your first order! Right now they have some really cute things for cheap, including adorable kids' umbrellas for only $5.75 and socks for only $4.50. If you need any summertime birthday gifts, here's your chance! If you haven't joined yet, go here to do so.

Did you grab the $5 heartsy credit the other day? If you did, you can score a bottle of cleaner that is better for the environment, won't bother your allergies, and contains no perfumes or dyes. Each bottle is $5, so FREE with the credit, and there are several kinds to choose from, including window cleaner, all-purpose cleaner, and granite countertop cleaner. You'll have to pay shipping, which is only $2.50. If cleaner isn't your thing, check back daily - the deals change and they usually have at least one or two things for around $5.
(What is heartsy? It's a daily deal site that features Etsy sellers. If you missed out on the $5 credit, go here to sign up. You'll get a $5 credit after your first purchase.)

Sharpie markers for FREE at Target - starts Sunday
Posted by Tom/Sophia at 3:22 PM Labels: free, TargetPrint this Target sharpie coupon now - it's good for $1 off any Sharpie product. Starting on Sunday, the Sharpie 2 packs will be on sale for $1 - so, free!
I think so! Here's why:
Today was a slow shopping day, but a GREAT mail day, so that's where I'll start. First of all, I received the Mixbook I made. This was totally free using the coupon code that they had released. I know a lot of folks weren't able to make one because it later turned out that the coupon code had been leaked and wasn't for the general public. They still honored many of the orders, however. I must say that Mixbook does GREAT work, and if you need a gift, I highly recommend one of their photo books. I would show you more pictures of the book, but I doubt you want to see dorky family photos :)
I also received the full-size Downy Unstoppables sample from VocalPoint, the Ocean Spray sparkling drink from Facebook + $1 off coupon, a Zipfizz sample + BOGO coupon, Bloomberg Business Week and Martha Steward Living.
As for the shopping, I went to CVS, where I used the FREE Hershey's Air Delights coupon from the scanner. I also used a BOGO Lipton coupon. My OOP cost for these three items was $1.30, and I saved $3.77. After CVS I stopped by Arby's, where I bought a sandwich and took advantage of the free value menu item with purchase coupon.
All told, I got tons of cool stuff in the mail, including the photo book (a gift for my g-ma); spent $4.78 and saved $4.77; and had a nice lunch. Yep, couponing is worth it.
Visit Skin79's Facebook page, "like" them, then mail your address to promo@skin79northamerica.com. You'll receive two skin care samples if you do!

For all of you who have Church's Chicken restaurants nearby, I'm jealous. Their chicken is de-lish-ous. Here's a coupon for a 2 piece meal with biscuit and potatoes. Yum!

While cruising around the Web, I have noticed a few folks having trouble with daily deal sites. Here's the thing you have to remember about how they work: you're buying a voucher, not an item. It's the same concept as when you buy a Wal-Mart gift card. You don't get any actual merchandise until you go to Wal-Mart and buy stuff with the card. Deal sites operate the same way. So, for instance, today you can get the $12 voucher for nail polish strips from SaveMore for only $6. Many people are buying this because it's free when you sign up for their website. (You get a $10 credit for signing up, so you use that credit to buy the deal).
After you buy a voucher from SaveMore, you'll have to wait a until the deal ends to receive the voucher. IT DOESN'T COME RIGHT AWAY. Once you receive it (by email), you can go to the vendor's website, do your shopping, then redeem it at checkout. Some vouchers come with free shipping; others do not. The nail art deal for today, for example, includes shipping. If you don't complete this last step of going to the vendor website and buying your stuff, you won't get anything. Most deal sites operate in this manner.
If you're worried about whether or not you can trust a deal site or vendor site, you can always look them up on the BBB, although they might be on there, or they might not; if they're newer, they probably won't be. You can also try googling the business's or website's name. See if you can read some customer reviews and find out what others are saying. And if you're concerned about whether or not a connection is secure, look at the address. Secure addresses usually begin with 'https' instead of 'http'. You might also see a little lock somewhere on your browser that will indicate whether a connection is secure.
If you're new to deal sites and want to try one out, you can try the SaveMore nail art deal today. Use this link to sign up and get your $10 credit. Buy the deal. Even though it's free, you'll need a credit card, but you won't be charged (how do I know? I love SaveMore and I buy stuff from them). In a couple of days, you'll get your voucher. Go to the vendor's website. Purchase your stuff. Enjoy!
The nail art deal is now expired :( Be sure to check back for more awesome deals!

They're colorful designs you lay over your nails - and you don't have to worry about smudging them :) If you sign up for SaveMore right now using this link, you'll get a $10 credit - purchase the deal for $6 - it's absolutely free! This deal even includes shipping.

Keep your eye on Fiber One's Facebook page from now until 7.11 - they'll be giving away a limited amount of samples each day. You'll have to be quick!
I guess that depends on whom you ask. For me it is. Here's why:
First, the mail. Today the postman didn't have to work quite as hard. I received a sample of Seattle's Best coffee + $1 off coupon and a coupon for a free Suave lotion. I really should start using my free product coupons; I have about 15 of them!
Next, the shopping. At lunch, I stopped by Walgreens and Target. At Walgreens, I bought two Finesse products (a shampoo and conditioner), which were on sale for $3.99 BOGO. I used two $1/1 coupons, making my total out of pocket cost $2 (plus tax). I'm also going to send away for the rebate found here. So, free! At Target, I bought four items:
Coffee Mate creamer: $1.62, used $0.55/1 manufacturer coupon
Sharpie two-pack: $1.54, used $1/1 Target coupon
Scotch Magic tape: $1.79, used $1/1 manufactuer coupon and $0.50/1 Target coupon
PaperMate 10-pack pens: $1.02, used $1/1 Target coupon
Total before coupons: $5.97
Total after coupons (including tax): $1.59
So, for everything I bought, I paid $3.96 OOP and I saved a total of $10.91 (not including the $2 rebate).
Yes, couponing is worth it.
